"Hey look, everybody! Keitaro sent a letter!" Mitsune-san was running and shouting in the hallway. "Tegami!"

"Tegami?" I popped my head from my room.

"A letter from Keitaro?" I saw Motoko-chan popped out her head to the hallway as well.

"Let's head to the lobby, miina!" shouted Mitsune.

Everyone went downstairs. Mistune-san said that it is a letter from Keitaro. Keitaro is currently away from Japan and on his assistantship with Seta-san. He's away on his third month. I miss him.

When Mitsune-san opened the letter, she cleared her throat and then... laughed out loud. She laughed like a riot. We were all puzzled why.

"What's the matter? What is it?" I was curious.

"Well... it's because..." she was still laughing. "Just take a look!"

"Gimme that'." I snatched it away from her. When I started reading, my heart throbbed. "... This is from Keitaro?" I mean, Keitaro wouldn't write something like this... Would he? I was still puzzled with a big question mark on top of my head.

"What is it, senpai?" I gave the letter to Shinobu-chan. When she read it, she blushed in an instant. Her reaction was really automatic.

"So? What does it say?" asked Motoko-san. Shinobu couldn't comment. She was all red. "Geez, you guys." then Motoko-san grabbed it from Shinobu-chan. "To my Be---" Motoko-san got frightened and threw the paper like the letter turned into a turtle or something-- "I'm- I'm going to my room... yeah!"

"Let me see, Onii-sama's letter." said Kanako-chan. "Ara. Why is everyone acting weird. I see no problem. It's just a letter for me..."

"THAT'S NOT IT!" I protested.

"My turn my turn!" yelled Kaolla-chan.

"OUR TURN." butted Sarah.

"To my Beloved:

If I were asked to what is the one thing that I want in life, I'd give them an answer right away.

I don't want anything fancy. I don't want the widest screen TV. I don't want the most expensive car. I don't want the biggest house. I don't want any crowd following me. I don't want the smartest cellphone. I don't want fortune or glory. Because what I want is simple really. I just want to be with you." they read together and everyone had no comment. - Keitaro" after Kaolla and Sara read Keitaro's letter together, everyone was really quiet. But Mitsune-san was still laughing.

"WH- WHAT THE HELL IS THAT?!" I was outraged. But I felt happy in a way.

"Maybe he's homesick?" suggested Shinobu-chan.

We all had mixed reactions. Mitsune-san said that we'd write back. But the problem is, who will write a reply? Keitaro's an idiot. He didn't specify who the letter is for. It's for me? Mou! I don't want to argue with everyone that the letter is for me. It's all too weird. I think to insist that it's for me. And I'm really confused... even have my doubts... that Keitaro would write something out of the blue. But then again, a letter like this should be normal, right?

I think everyone knows who the letter is for. They're just keeping quiet.

Profile: Naru Narusegawa

Naru Narusegawa (Narusegawa Naru) is a 17-year old student at Keitaro's cram school with an extremely fiery temper. Naru is a boarder at the Hinata House, in Room 304.

Of all the girls in the Hinata House, Keitaro manages to annoy her the most, usually by accidentally grabbing her in unfortunate places or walking in on her while she is naked. Naru's appearance is based Beautiful Nerd archetype in dating sim games, with the twist she is actually very cantankerous.

Despite her temper and frequent violence toward Keitaro, she develops strong feelings for him, though she has great difficulty in admitting her feelings even to herself. She is prone to extremely strong jealous reactions whenever Keitaro appears to be getting too close (physically or emotionally) to other girls.

Despite the fact that she was only two years old at the time, she and Keitaro promised to go to Tokyo University together, though being two years old she didn't remember for quite a while (this is why Mutsumi made the same promise with her - see Mutsumi's entry).

Naru is highly intelligent; at the start of the series, she is #1 in Japan on the practice entrance exams. Just a few years earlier, however, she was in almost exactly the same position Keitaro was in - horrible grades and no hope of getting into Tokyo U. She was able to overcome her problems by studying with a Tokyo University student, Noriyasu Seta, whom she developed a serious crush on.

Naru had made a promise three times to get into Tokyo University. First with Keitaro, then with Mutsumi and finally with Seta when he was tutoring her.

She owns a Liddo-kun doll which a friend (Mutsumi Otohime) gave her when she was young.

Narusegawa Naru is studying to get into Tokyo Daigaku (Tokyo University, aka Toudai) to fulfill a dream... and a promise. To get there, and to avoid the distraction of her parent being remarried, she moves to the hot springs resort-turned-girls dormitory Hinata-Sou.

Very beautiful, incredibly smart, and wonderfully sweet, but terribly near-sighted and horrendously short-tempered, she soon encounters the new would-be manager Urashima Keitaro, but she protests the idea of having such a "pervert" being in close contact with her. Though she actually cares for Keitaro a lot, when she isn't sending him flying into stratosphere with her notorious running punches when he accidentally sees more of her than he should.

She often wears thick glasses, sweaters, and braids when going to cram school to deter attention from guys.
